PLA
The main problems of the production of lactic acid polymers from biomaterials (mostly from different saccharides) are the following: neutralisation and subsequent method(s) of separation, production of pure (including optically pure) lactide and macromolecules with sufficient chain length (appropriate for technological processes) as well as the use of nontoxic or at least less toxic catalysts and additives. The reuse of materials, chemicals and heat in the production cycle and minimization of waste amount is also significant. These bottlenecks is solved by the NordBioChem's technological solutions, as well as the several copolymer classes formation in basis of lactic acid (derivatives).
PG 1,2-propane diol (1,2-propylene glycol).
NordBioChem have efficient technology for the industrial production of PG from lactic acid (derivative). The conversion rate and the selectivity for the end product is extremely high, if compare the results with documented still scientific publications and patents. The demand for the PG have tendency to grow, as it can be used instead of the ethylene glycol, what using is prohibited in some regions, and as it not toxic, can used in different cosmetics and pharma products: ointments, gels, etc.
